DFW Hybrid Battery is a mobile hybrid battery service based in Frisco. We publish our prices because a hybrid warning light is stressful enough without guessing what the repair will cost. Every price below includes Texas sales tax and our mobile service — we come to your home or workplace. The final price is always confirmed after testing, so you know the number before any work begins.
Repair or replacement? The report decides
Module repair starts at $700 labor + parts, and full pack rebuilds run $1,300–$2,400. A complete battery replacement often costs $1,500–$4,000 at other shops, and more at a dealer. Our written Battery Health Report shows the voltage of every module, so you only pay for what your car actually needs. Why our diagnostic isn’t “free”.
Step 1: On-Site Hybrid Battery Diagnostic
| Location | Diagnostic fee | Credit if you choose the repair |
|---|---|---|
| North Dallas service area | $150 | 100% — the diagnostic is free when we do the repair |
| Other Dallas–Fort Worth areas | $200 | 50% ($100) credited toward the repair |
Our service area includes North Dallas, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen, Prosper, Little Elm, The Colony, Carrollton and Lewisville, plus Celina, Aubrey, Hebron, Addison, Farmers Branch, Grapevine, Southlake, Coppell, Flower Mound, Wylie, Murphy, Rowlett and Sachse. Other cities across Dallas–Fort Worth, including the rest of Dallas, Richardson, Garland, Irving, Denton, Arlington and Fort Worth, are served by appointment. See all areas we serve.
The diagnostic includes a full hybrid system scan, block- or module-level voltage data, a check of the cooling system and 12V battery, and a written report. It tells us — and you — whether the battery needs a module repair, a full pack rebuild, a different part entirely, or a full replacement. Learn more about our hybrid battery diagnostics.
Full Pack Rebuild Prices by Vehicle (All Modules Replaced)
These prices are for a full pack rebuild: we remove the pack, replace all of its modules with tested and matched reconditioned modules (not new), balance the pack and reinstall it. Prices include tax, removal and reinstallation, and mobile service.
If testing shows that only some modules are weak, you usually don’t need a full rebuild. In that case we replace just the weak modules and balance the pack — see Module Repair below, which typically costs less.
| Vehicle | Full pack rebuild (all modules) |
|---|---|
| Toyota Prius Gen 2 (2004–2009) | $1,300 |
| Toyota Prius Gen 3 (2010–2015) | $1,400 |
| Hyundai Sonata Hybrid / Kia Optima Hybrid (2012–2015) | $1,600 |
| Hyundai Sonata Hybrid / Kia Optima Hybrid (2016–2019) | $2,000 |
| Lexus CT200h | $1,600 |
| Toyota Camry Hybrid (2007–2011) | $1,700 |
| Toyota Camry Hybrid (2012–2017) | $1,700 |
| Lexus RX400h / RX450h | $2,400 |
| Other hybrids | Call for a quote |
See each vehicle’s battery details, common problems and warning codes in our vehicle guides.
You only pay for what your battery needs. We test first. If a few weak modules are the problem, we recommend a module repair instead of a full rebuild. If the pack has damage that a rebuild won’t fix, we’ll tell you and recommend a replacement instead. We never recommend a service just because it’s on a price list.

Module Repair
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Labor: pack removal and reinstallation (tax and mobile service included) | From $700 |
| Replacement modules and other parts | Priced separately, based on what testing finds |
Module repair makes sense when only some modules are weak and the rest of the pack tests healthy. The parts cost depends on how many modules need replacing and the vehicle. If most or all modules need replacing, the full pack rebuild price above applies. Not sure it’s worth repairing? Read is hybrid battery repair worth it?
Hybrid Battery Pack Charging (External Charge)
A hybrid battery pack can drain so low that the car won’t go into READY — and the car can’t recharge it on its own. We charge the pack with external equipment at your location so the hybrid system can start again.
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| External hybrid pack charge | From $300 — depending on the vehicle |
| Pre-purchase hybrid battery inspection | From $200 |
Common reasons a pack goes flat:
- The car sat unused for weeks or months
- Many repeated start attempts that drained the pack
- Another fault in the car that kept the hybrid system from charging
- A failed inverter/converter that stopped charging the battery
- A dead or weak 12V battery that caused repeated failed starts
Learn more about our hybrid battery pack charging service, including when charging makes sense and how to prevent a drained pack.
Charging is a first step, not always the whole fix. If something in the car caused the pack to drain — like a converter fault — the pack will drain again until that is repaired. A pack that sat deeply discharged can also have weakened modules. After charging, we check the pack and tell you whether anything else needs attention.
Full Battery Replacement
When a repair or rebuild isn’t practical, we offer replacement options matched to your vehicle and budget. Because prices depend on the vehicle and the battery option, call us at (469) 773-9407 for a current quote. Learn more about hybrid battery replacement.
Warranty
Our warranty ranges from 1 to 3 years, based on the vehicle’s overall condition and mileage. We tell you exactly which coverage applies — in writing — before any work begins. See our warranty page for details.
What Can Change the Final Price?
- The number of weak or failed modules found during testing
- Corrosion on bus bars or terminals that needs cleaning or parts
- A failing cooling fan, sensor, relay or battery computer
- Whether your vehicle is inside or outside our North Dallas service area
- The battery option you choose for a full replacement
If anything changes the price, we explain why and get your approval first.
Check Your Factory Warranty First
Before paying for any hybrid battery work, check whether your car is still covered by the manufacturer. Toyota hybrids from model year 2020 and newer have 10-year / 150,000-mile hybrid battery coverage, and some Hyundai hybrids have lifetime battery coverage for the original owner. If your car is past its factory coverage, our own written warranty covers our work for 1 to 3 years. If a warning code brought you here, our hybrid battery error code guides explain what it means.
Why DFW Hybrid Battery Publishes Its Prices
We diagnose first, repair what can be repaired, and replace only when necessary. Publishing our prices is part of that: you can compare options before we arrive, and you’ll know exactly what the diagnostic costs and how it’s credited.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the diagnostic fee really credited toward the repair?
Yes. In our North Dallas service area, the full $150 diagnostic fee is credited when you choose the repair. Outside the service area, 50% of the $200 fee is credited.
Do your prices include tax?
Yes. Our full pack rebuild prices and module repair labor include Texas sales tax and mobile service.
What’s the difference between module repair and a full pack rebuild?
Module repair replaces only the weak modules (from $700 labor plus parts). A full pack rebuild replaces every module in the pack and has a fixed price by vehicle. Testing tells us which one your battery needs.
Why does a full rebuild cost more for some vehicles?
Larger or more complex packs — like the Lexus RX400h/RX450h and the 2016–2019 Sonata and Optima hybrids — take longer to remove, test and balance, and some have more modules.
My hybrid sat for months and won’t start. Do I need a new battery?
Not necessarily. Often the pack is just deeply discharged. An external pack charge (from $300) can bring it back, and then we test it to see whether the modules are still healthy.
How long does a rebuild take?
It depends on the vehicle and what testing finds. We’ll give you a time estimate along with the price after the diagnostic.
Do you work on vehicles not listed here?
Yes. We work on Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, Kia, Honda, Ford, Nissan and Chevrolet hybrids. Call us with your year and model for a quote.
