DFW Hybrid Battery is a specialized hybrid battery service based in Frisco, Texas, serving North Dallas and surrounding DFW communities. We focus on hybrid and high-voltage battery diagnostics, repair, reconditioning, module testing, battery balancing, pack charging and replacement.

Our approach is simple: diagnose the problem first, then recommend the most practical solution. A hybrid warning light does not automatically mean the entire battery needs to be replaced. Before recommending an expensive battery replacement, we evaluate the battery and related hybrid system to determine what is actually causing the problem.

Our Approach: Diagnosis Before Replacement

Hybrid battery problems are not always as simple as “good battery” or “bad battery.” Warning messages such as Check Hybrid System, a vehicle that will not enter READY mode, reduced fuel economy, rapid changes in battery state of charge, loss of power, or hybrid-related diagnostic trouble codes can have several possible causes.

Depending on the vehicle and symptoms, our diagnostic process may include reviewing hybrid-system trouble codes and freeze-frame information, monitoring live battery data, comparing battery blocks or modules, checking voltage behavior under load, evaluating temperature data, inspecting high-voltage connections and safety components, and performing additional battery testing when necessary. The goal is to identify the actual failure before recommending a repair.

1. Diagnosis first — in writing

Before any price quote, you get a written Battery Health Report with the voltage of every module and our recommendation. You keep it.

2. Real savings

Repairs start at $700. A full replacement often runs $1,500–$4,000 at other shops, and more at a dealer. We repair when it makes sense and tell you when replacement is the better choice.

3. Local and easy to reach

A named specialist you can call back, who comes to you — at home or at work.

What We Specialize In

DFW Hybrid Battery focuses primarily on the high-voltage battery and related hybrid battery systems rather than general automotive repair.

Hybrid Battery Diagnostics

Advanced diagnostic scanning and battery data analysis to help determine whether the hybrid battery is actually responsible for the vehicle’s symptoms. Learn more.

Hybrid Battery Repair

When a battery is safely and practically repairable, we evaluate repair options instead of automatically recommending complete battery replacement. Learn more.

Battery Reconditioning & Balancing

Selected batteries and modules can be tested, cycled, balanced, and evaluated to improve pack consistency and identify weak components.

Module Testing & Matching

Individual battery modules may be evaluated for voltage, capacity, internal resistance, self-discharge, and performance so replacement modules can be appropriately matched when applicable.

Hybrid Battery Pack Charging

When a pack is drained after long storage or a failed start, we can charge it on-site and test whether it recovered. Learn more.

Hybrid Battery Replacement

When repair is not practical or replacement provides better long-term value, we can discuss available replacement options based on the vehicle and battery availability. Learn more.

High-Voltage Battery System Inspection

We inspect battery-related components such as high-voltage connections, wiring, safety disconnects, relays, battery management components, cooling systems, and other related components when relevant to the diagnosis.

What Makes Us Different: We Don’t Start With “Replace the Battery”

Hybrid battery replacement can be one of the most expensive repairs on a hybrid vehicle. That is why we believe replacement should be based on evidence — not assumptions. If testing indicates that the complete battery has failed or replacement is the most practical option, we will explain why.

If the problem appears to involve individual modules, battery imbalance, high resistance, damaged connections, cooling issues, safety components, wiring, relays, or another battery-related component, we investigate those possibilities before condemning the entire battery. And if our testing does not support a hybrid battery failure, we will tell you that as well.

Our job is not simply to sell a battery.

Our job is to determine what the battery and hybrid system are telling us.

How We Diagnose: More Than Reading a Trouble Code

A diagnostic trouble code is the beginning of a diagnosis — not always the final answer. Depending on the vehicle and the problem, our testing may include:

  • Hybrid-system diagnostic trouble code scanning
  • Freeze-frame and live-data analysis
  • Battery block or module voltage comparison
  • State-of-charge behavior monitoring
  • Voltage-drop and load behavior evaluation
  • Internal resistance testing when applicable
  • Module capacity testing when the battery is removed for bench service
  • Charge/discharge cycling and balancing when appropriate
  • Battery temperature and cooling-system evaluation
  • High-voltage connector, cable, relay, safety-disconnect, and wiring inspection
  • Post-repair scanning and operational verification

The exact diagnostic process depends on the vehicle, battery chemistry, symptoms, and condition of the battery.

Repair When Practical. Replace When Necessary.

Not every aging hybrid battery is a good candidate for repair. A battery with widespread module deterioration, severe corrosion, water intrusion, extensive heat damage, unsafe high-voltage connections, or multiple failing components may be better suited for replacement. On the other hand, some battery problems can be isolated to specific modules, connections, battery electronics, or related components.

We evaluate the condition of the battery and explain the available options so you can make an informed decision based on the vehicle’s condition, expected use, repair cost, and practical value. We would rather explain why a repair does — or does not — make sense than sell a solution that is inappropriate for the vehicle. Our prices are published so you can compare options before we arrive.

Real Vehicles. Real Diagnostic Problems.

Hybrid battery failures do not always follow the same pattern. Our work includes diagnosing vehicles with hybrid warning messages, NO READY conditions, battery imbalance, weak or deteriorated modules, abnormal battery state-of-charge behavior, damaged high-voltage connections, corrosion and moisture intrusion, battery cooling concerns, safety-interlock faults, relay and power-distribution problems, and other battery-related failures.

Some cases can be identified through vehicle diagnostics and live data. Others require removal of the battery for physical inspection and module-level testing. Read some of our real case studies:

Mobile Hybrid Battery Service in North Dallas

Many hybrid battery problems make it inconvenient — or sometimes impossible — to bring the vehicle to a traditional repair facility. DFW Hybrid Battery offers mobile diagnostic and hybrid battery services, allowing us to evaluate many vehicles at the customer’s location. Depending on the diagnosis, some repairs can be completed on-site, while more extensive battery testing, module cycling, balancing, or rebuilding may require the battery to be removed for bench service. We also have a shop available when a vehicle needs to be brought in.

Service Area

DFW Hybrid Battery is based in Frisco, Texas. Our service area includes Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen, Prosper, Little Elm, The Colony, Carrollton, Lewisville, North Dallas, Celina, Aubrey, Hebron, Addison, Farmers Branch, Grapevine, Southlake, Coppell, Flower Mound, Wylie, Murphy, Rowlett and Sachse. Clear Answers. Practical Solutions.

We believe customers should understand what was found, what it means, and what their options are before deciding on a repair. That means explaining the diagnosis in understandable terms, showing relevant test results when appropriate, discussing repair versus replacement options, and providing realistic expectations about the work being performed — backed by a written warranty.

The qualities we want every customer to experience are simple: Knowledgeable service. Honest communication. Fair pricing. Efficient work.

Safety: High-Voltage Systems Require Respect

Hybrid battery packs operate at potentially dangerous high voltage and should not be treated like conventional 12-volt automotive batteries. Proper isolation procedures, appropriate testing equipment, careful handling of high-voltage components, and attention to battery condition are essential when diagnosing or servicing these systems. We approach every hybrid battery as a high-voltage electrical system first — not simply as another automotive battery.

Our Philosophy

Test First. Understand the Failure. Repair What Makes Sense. Replace Only When Necessary.
